We spoke to Mick Kelly from Wicklow News and Mary Fogerty of People Newspapers as they took a look back at the week that was in Wicklow. Pete the Vet dropped in for a chat and we heard about changes taking place to the Lotto next month.

11- 12pm Trevor Hogan former rugby player, political activist, trained journalist and teacher joined us for our Friday interview. We heard about the homecoming event taking place today for Donal O Mahoney who won gold at last weeks special Olympics and John Wilson from Wilson wines dropped in to chat about Spanish wines.

Thursday 6th August The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We spoke to Caroline Reid, Communications Officer with the Irish Refugee Council about the tragic death of 25 fatalities of migrants from an overloaded boat which capsized in the Mediterranean. Gerry Byrne, Aviation journalist and author gave us the latest on the flight debris being finally confirmed as MH 370. Carl O’ Brien, Irish Times talked to us about the dangers on the roads in Summer and in particular the N11 and we were joined in studio by Garda Declan Lynch who will talk about vishing. 11- 12pm We were joined in studio by Holiday Doc Joe Supple with holiday tips and Best-selling bray based author Emma Hannigan popped in ahead of her latest novel the secrets we share coming out in paperback next week to talk about writing being therapeutic. We asked Science Man Sean Duke how humans see colours differently in the summer and if jet setting cause ill health and relationship breakdown. We were also joined in studio by Simon and Quincy from Wicklow Wolf Brewery with some beers ahead of this weekends craft beer fair in the Harbour bar

Wednesday 5th August The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We discussed the low rate of house building in Wicklow (the lowest in the country) and what this means with Renua Deputy Billy Timmons and Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Fitzgerald and we spoke to Wicklow Mum, Andrea Dunne about the expense involved in back to schools costs. We were also joined in studio by Wickow Woman Joanna Murphy who has recently been promoted to CEO of Connect Ireland and we spoke to the Gearoid O’Ciarian Principal of Colaiste Raithin for his reaction to planning permission for a new building finally being granted 11- 12pm We returned to our discussion on the lack of home building in Wicklow with Paul Melia, Irish Independent and we spoke to Noirn Hegarty, Editor, Lonely Planet about the cool new jobs they are offering in their Dublin office. We were joined in studio by Rachel O’Beirne who talked about her very new fashion and beauty blog www.everythingrachel.com, the fast success, the challenges and why she decided to offer what she felt others weren’t and Wicklow Based Author Amy Lynch joins us in studio to talk about her newly published novel Bride without a groom

Tuesday 4th August The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We spoke to Conor Faughnan, AA about the planned clampdown on penalty points and linking vehicles and registrations to points andwe spoke to William O’Brien, from Dublin airport who was waiting with his whole family waiting to welcome his son Leo home to Rathdrum , leo won a bronze for golf at the special Olympics in LA. Following a busy weekend in Wicklow we heard about last night’s end to summerfest and the Tinaheely show from Ryan O’Neill and Gareth Farrell and we heard tribute to Cilla Black from Damian Smyth who co-wrote a book on the Beatles. We were also joined in studio by Susan Walsh, Dubray Books who gave us recommended reads and told us how harper lee’s new book has been received and will there be another harry potte. 11- 12pm We talked about the growing issue of eating disorders and obesity amongst young people and what we can do with the unhealthy relationship our children have with often underpriced junk food with Ireland’s leading obesity expert Dr Donal O’Shea and we spoke to 21 year old Laura Reynolds in Dublin Airport who had just arrived home with a gold medal from the basketball at the Special Olympics and Pam Beacom, Blue Dolphins volunteers and Mum of one of the Wicklow Athlethes. We also heard how to declutter your wadrobe with Sorcha Murphy, Escape Boutique and Number 1 Best selling author and weekly columnist (with The Irish Independent) Sinead Moriarty drops in to studio to chat about her 11th book; the way we were We hope to catch up with some of the winners at the special olympics
