It was a jam-packed show today, and kicked off with an exclusive on the announcement of the Wicklow football line-up for the upcoming game against Armagh. PJ Cunningham was on the phone previewing the game where as he said “the Garden County meets the Orchard County” in the Athletic Grounds on Saturday. Mary Fogarty from the People filled Declan in on all the top local and national stories, before the show turned international with a call to East Coast FM’s man in Athens Kostas Katsouras, who filled us in on what’s happening on the ground in Greece. Morning Show favourite Robbie Doyle dropped in to perform his latest track ‘Up On The Downside’ and a chat with Declan.

11- 12pm

William De Vatt, CEO of Glencree called in to studio to fill Declan in on an event they are running on Saturday about the 1916 rising and the ethics of memory. President Michael D Higgins will be delivering the opening address at the event. Ballinaclash man Stephen Kearon was on the phone to chat about with what’s happening at Clash Fest this weekend, and Father Martin Cosgrove was also on the phone with Declan to let us know about a “Mass for Encouragement” coming up at 6.30pm in Arklow R.C. church on Saturday. Author Ella Griffin was in studio to talk about her new book ‘The Flower Arrangement’. She told Declan about how she even worked in a flower shop to research the book, which is about a character called Lara who intuitively knows what people are feeling when they go to buy flowers. Newly appointed Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council John Ryan joined us to discuss plans to give the council control over Wicklow Port, and his feeling on the housing crisis. Finally, Julia Mooney dropped in from the Craic in the Granite Festival to explain what’s going on at it and she brought in The Matthews band who performed “Days Like This” and Declan played their latest single “Do You Really Want Me?” on the show.

11- 12pm

Liverpool legend Mark Wright dropped into he studio ahead of the legends match that is set to take place in October of this year. We were joined by Peter Murtage, Rebecca Rock and Jeremy Perrin to talk about their experiences walking the Camino in Spain. Author Ann O Loughlin from Kilcoole spoke to Declan with the release of her debut novel The Ballroo, Café.

Technological Consultant Damien Mulley talked to us about roaming, data usage and phone use on holidays and journalist Barbara Scully joined us in studio to chat about some non fiction Summer reads.

Mummy pages.ie Laura Haugh drops in to talk about keeping the kids sun safe on holidays.Sharon Cosgrove, CEO Asthma Society of Ireland talks to us about dealing with hayfever season and allergies for the season. Garda Declan Lynch had the latest update on crime in the county and Kay Siren joined us in studio to perform live with Roy Buckley on guitar.

Tuesday 23rd June The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am Charles Stanley Smith, Communications An Tasice spoke to us about thepossible move for the withdraw of the sale of Beit paintings and Dr. Paul Corcoran Senior Lecturer with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health spoke to us about a recently released study that he was a part of which looked at the impact the recession may have had on the the number of suicides in the country. Author Catriona Lally also joined us in studio to talk about her debut novel Eggshells and East Coast fms’ Ryan O’Neill talked to us about proposed new licensing laws which will hopefully prevent another Garth Brooks type disaster happening. 11- 12pm Dave Thomas and Patrick Bracken joined us in studio to talk about the first ever Wicklow Pride festival taking place all next week and John Deering, dropped in to give us an update on his position and feeling on the Bray Wanderers situation from his point of view as a club shareholder.

Kostas Katsaros joined us on the line from Greece as the country continues their negotiations with the EU/IMF andWayne Kearns who is an accidental author and is reinventing some of the most popular Celtic myth stories such as The legends of Chu Chulainn, The Salmon of Knowledge, and Fionn and the Dragon.

11- 12pm

Marian Byrne our parenting expert looked at getting beyond boredom with the school summer holidays on the way and Patricia Wroe dropped in with tips on applying for apprenticeships that are available and some college open days that are coming up.
