Tuesday 4th August The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We spoke to Conor Faughnan, AA about the planned clampdown on penalty points and linking vehicles and registrations to points andwe spoke to William O’Brien, from Dublin airport who was waiting with his whole family waiting to welcome his son Leo home to Rathdrum , leo won a bronze for golf at the special Olympics in LA. Following a busy weekend in Wicklow we heard about last night’s end to summerfest and the Tinaheely show from Ryan O’Neill and Gareth Farrell and we heard tribute to Cilla Black from Damian Smyth who co-wrote a book on the Beatles. We were also joined in studio by Susan Walsh, Dubray Books who gave us recommended reads and told us how harper lee’s new book has been received and will there be another harry potte. 11- 12pm We talked about the growing issue of eating disorders and obesity amongst young people and what we can do with the unhealthy relationship our children have with often underpriced junk food with Ireland’s leading obesity expert Dr Donal O’Shea and we spoke to 21 year old Laura Reynolds in Dublin Airport who had just arrived home with a gold medal from the basketball at the Special Olympics and Pam Beacom, Blue Dolphins volunteers and Mum of one of the Wicklow Athlethes. We also heard how to declutter your wadrobe with Sorcha Murphy, Escape Boutique and Number 1 Best selling author and weekly columnist (with The Irish Independent) Sinead Moriarty drops in to studio to chat about her 11th book; the way we were We hope to catch up with some of the winners at the special olympics
