Friday 24th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

Friday 24th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We were joined in studio by Mick Kelly, Wicklownews.net and Mary Fogarty, Bray People who gave us a review of the papers and the weeks big Wicklow stories and we were joined in studio by Finance Minister Simon Harris who chatted about the week in the Dail and the budget. We were also joined in studio by Patricia Wroe, Career Guidance Counsellor who talked about education options for adults without formal education, students under 23 and people with disability. 11- 12pm •We spoke to Tony Mangan who was in Glenealy and who finishes his 4 year run around the world in aid of Aware on Monday at the Dublin Marathon where he started it in 2010 and we were joined in studio by Ivan Yates who talked about his book, life and career. We were also joined in studio by Maclean Burke and Gemma Doorley who talked about acting and writing Joe Prop, a new play which is in part in aid of Barnardos and opens on Monday is Smock Alley Theatre. We also heard about the top ten destinations to visit in 2015 according the Lonely Planet from Holiday Doctor

Thursday 23rd October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We discussed the Blood charity which spent state funds on dig kennels with Ivan Cooper, Director for Advocacy, Wheel.ie and we spoke to FG Deputy Andrew Doyle about greenhouse gases being a problem because cows are emitting gas. We were also joined in studio by Sean Duke, Science Journalist who talked about a paralysed man walking again and how if we change out walk, we can change our mood and we spoke to Gabriel Dooley, Dooley Auctioneers about the rumour that 20% deposit could be dropped to 10% for homebuyers. 11- 12pm •We were joined in studio by Wicklow Chef Siobhan Donnelly who chatted about pumpkins and gave Halloween treat ideas and local businessmen ShaneByrne, Show off and Michael Noble of Noble Education dropped in to talk about their respective wins at Regional Finals of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Competition earlier this week. We were also joined in studio by Vet Pete Wedderburn who talked about the rise on popularity of human names for pets and Local Garda Declan Lynch dropped in to give us recent local crime news.

Wednesday 22nd October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We heard a tribute to brave Gavin Glynn after he sadly lost his fight with cancer from Freshly Squeezed’s Laura Wood and we heard about the latest development in the Mary Boyle case from Cathal McMahon, Crime Reporter with the Irish Daily Mirror. We also spoke to Fionn Davenport, Author with Lonely Planet about Ireland being amongst their top ten countries to visit in 2015 and we heard about last nights meeting in Arklow on the water charges from Mary McDonald. 11- Midday •We were joined in studio by Laura Haugh, Mummypages.ie about the clock change impact on the kids and some non carving pumpkin tips and we spoke to Dan McGuill, Journal.ie about Irish Water giving out the bank details of ten people to their landlords. We were also joined in studio Josh o’ Connell and Nicola Byrne, TY Students from St Killians, Bray who talked about taking part in Young Social Innovators and helping the homeless.

Tuesday 21st October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We heard how ready we are for Ebola here from Liam Doran, General Secretary, Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation and we discussed Sinn Fein with Niall O’ Connor, Political Correspondent Irish Independent. We were also joined in studio by Author ans Journalist Damien Corless who chatte about his book ‘From Wanderly Wagon to Clerys Clock – The Irish History you weren’t taught at school. 11- Midday •We were joined in studio by Ashford based Psychotherpaust and Counsellor Richard Bury who talked about lonlieness and how to combat it and help others suffering from it and Majella O’ Donnell popped in to talk about her book ‘It’s all in the head’ and her life. We also spoke to Independent Deputy Billy Timmons about coding in Wicklow.

Monday 20th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We discussed Arklow water with Councillors Pat Fitzgerald and Sylvestour Bourke and we heard about rural house prices rising faster than the Capital from local Auctioneer Gabriel Dooley. We were joined in studio by Nutritionist Conor Saunders who talked about the pros and cons of the juicing craze and Conor Faughnan, AA Roadwatch talked about the cost of petrol and this morning’s Hauliers Protest. 11- Midday •We were joined in studio by Travel Writer Mary J Dinan and Bagatelle’s Ken Doyle ahead of a free gig in the Barracuda this Wednesday night, where Mary will discuss the Global Suitcase journey and Kim Hayden will perform. We also spoke to Conor Pope, Consumer Affairs Correspondent about the first year of the insolvency service and we got further reaction from Dave Thomas, Arklow LGBT about the Synod backtrack. We were also joined by Singer/Songwriter Tom Terrell who performed live ahead of his Irish Tour.
