Thursday 14th August The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We spoke to Dr Mary McCreery, Nutritional Consultant and Dietician about a new report that claims too little salt can actually be bad for your health and we spoke to Feargal O’ Leary, National Consumer Agency about how few consumers are actually willing to shop around for better value electricity, phone and insurance bills. We were also joined in studio by Science Journalist Sean Duke who talked about the pill that stopped middle aged spread before it starts and why girls shouldn’t be ‘forced’ to study Science and Aviation Journalist Gerry Byrne told us why Fly-be can certainly be considered an equal-opportunities employer. 11- midday We were joined in studio by Holiday Doctor Joe Supple about value deals on September holidays now the children are almost back at school and Donnellies Chef Siobhan Donnelly dropped in with practical budget basic recipes and tips for first time College students soon to be living alone. We were also joined in studio by Gail Nic Eoghain, Kilcoole Animal Hospital who talked about doggie dental care and Charlie Weston, Personal Finance Editor, Irish Independent gave helpful tops on keeping back to school costs down.

Our Friday guest this week was Jonathan Irwin, founder of the Jack and Jill Foundation and we heard about the latest initiative to raise funds for Team Gavin Glynn.

We also chatted to Laura Haugh, Mummypages.ie about the loom safety concern and Adrian Weckler, Irish Independent Technological Consultant talked to us about the €19 back-up smartish phone that has a month long battery life and shows movies and issues facing rural broadband. 11- 12pm We were joined in by Fearghal Jo who talked about his book ‘Get out of the Office and Cycle to Indian’ and we were joined in studio by Fish Man Alan Hegarty and Celebrity Chef Keith Kenny ahead of the seafood festival in Wicklow. We also spoke to Fr Iggy O’Donovan about suicide and mental illness following the tragic death of Robin Williams.

We were also joined in studio by Helen Walsh, Health and Fitness Consultant who talked about how women can feel shame about how they eat in work. 11- midday We were joined in studio by Guidance Counsellor Patricia Wroe who gave practical advice ahead of tomorrow’s leaving Cert results and Money Watchdog John Diskin joined us in studio to talk about a rise in people saving and who are biggest lenders right now. We were also joined in studio by Sibling Violinists, Vocalists and Record Producers Sephira for a chat and live performance ahead of their gig this Friday 15t August at Mermaid Arts Centre.

We were also joined in studio by Conor Saunders, Nutritional Therapist, Smart Eaters who talked about how important a full fat diet is and we talked about the costs of Irish water with Councillors Pat Casey and Sylvester Bourke. 11- 12pm We were joined in studio by Parenting Coach Marian Byrne who talked about the parenting rules you know you will break and the things you should not talk about on front of the children. We were also joined in studio by Philip Kavanagh, Arklow based successful liver transplant recipient who is heading to the transplant games in Krakow next week.
