Tuesday 15th December The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am Declan reviewed the top stories in today’s papers before moving to a chat with Gerry Byrne, Ireland’s top aviation journalist. They discussed amazing story of the chilli peppers that set off an alarm on an Air France plane, causing an emergency landing. Eamon Timmins from Age Action Ireland was on to talk about how to keep safe and warm this Christmas, and to look in on the neighbours this time of year. Helen Walsh dropped in to studio to give Declan some tips on health and fitness for the holiday season. Independent TD Stephen Donnelly called in to update Declan on the Irish Water situation and his attempt to table motions in the Dail on privatisation. Stephen also chatted about the prospect of a new political group emerging before the next election. 11am-midday Tech wizard Damien Mulley gave Declan a run-down on all the best Christmas gifts for the tekkies in your life. Breaking news from Australia was covered by Irish DJ based in Oz talking about the siege in the financial district of Sydney where hostages are being held by what appear to be Islamic terrorists. Susan Walsh dropped in for a visit from nearby Dubray Books who are celebrating their 40th birthday soon. Susan reviewed her favourite recommendations for books that will keep everyone happy over Christmas. Last up was new Indie-Folk band The Last of The Bar Stools – they are London-based, but one of their number is local boy Mark Kavanagh from Glencree in Enniskerry. They played a song live and we also heard a clip from their latest single “Don’t Let the Bad Guys Win”.

We were also joined by Eric Dempsey, Birds Ireland and Michael Byrne, Powerscourt Head Gardener who talked about the birds and gardens at Powerscourt and we were joined by Affiniti who performed a fantastic rendition of O Holy Night and talked about their upcoming gig in the Mansion House on December 16th with Howard Crosby, the nephew of the late great Bing. 11am-midday •We were joined by Journalist and Broadcaster Barbara Scully and Local Businessman and Former Councillor Mick Glynn who talked about the toy show and black Friday and Rosin McGettigan dropped in with her long deserved bronze medal. Tuesday 28th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We returned to the ongoing issue of water in Arklow with Local Counsellor and spokesperson for the group Mary McDonald and we spoke to Adrian Wreckler, technology Correspondent with the Irish Independent about the Irish based owner of the iWatch name. We also spoke to a local commuter about the expected impact of the public transport fare hikes and Science Jounalist Sean Duke joined us in studio to talk about Halloween being the real holiday of love, how 3 glasses of milk daily can possibly lead to an early death and if people can actually be born evil. 11- 12pm •We were joined in studio by Phil Coulter who talked about his upcoming tour and Chef Siobhan Donnelly joined us to give recipe tips. We were also joined in studio by Vet Pete Wedderburn who talked about pet superstitions and we heard about the Blessington Water tax protests from Sinn Fein Councillor Gery O’ Neill.

Wednesday 29th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am We heard about the value and details of the paintings stolen from a house in Donard last week from James O’Halloran, MD Adams Auctioneers and we spoke to Maureen Griffen, another Wicklow water campaigner ahead of this Saturdays national protest, this starting at County Buildings on Station Road at 12.30pm. We also spoke to Gerry Murphy, CEO National Transport Authority and Mark Gleeson, Rail Users Group about the price hikes in public transport fares and we spoke to Maureen Mulvhill, Head of Health Promotion at Irish Heart Foundation about the FAST campaign and World Stroke Day. 11- 12pm We spoke to Garda Declan Lynch about the art robbery in Donard and we were joined in studio by Greystones Man Joe Clifford who talked about running the marathon on Monday with his unique ‘running ‘ mate his brother Ciaran who has intellectual disabilities and he was joined by one of the people who helped make that possible Johnny Hayden. We were also joined in studio by Laura Haugh, Mum in residence at Mummy pages.net who gave us ideas and suggestions to keep the kids occupied during rainy day mid term break.

Tuesday 28th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We heard about the crazy crime rampage over the weekend which left one man dead, a homeless man seriously injured and a taxi driver terrorised from Cathal Mc Mahon, Crime Reporter with the Irish Daily Mirror and we spoke to Arklow woman Mary Hickey Nolan who has taken part in every Dublin City Marathon to date. We also spoke to Conor Faughan, AA roadwatch about the worrying increase in traffic and pressure on the roads and we heard tribute to Bassist Jack Bruce from Music Journalist Jackie Hayden. Wicklow water campaigners Shane Rowen and Violet Wilkins dropped in to talk about this Saturdays National protest. 11- 12pm •We spoke to Tom Shortt, Wicklow president of the IFA about the meat protests and we were joined in studio by John Diskin, Money watchdog who talked about the budget and pensions. We were also joined in studio by Colin Murphy and Brendan O’Reilly who talked about their book who’s feckin who in Irish History.

Friday 24th October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We were joined in studio by Mick Kelly, Wicklownews.net and Mary Fogarty, Bray People who gave us a review of the papers and the weeks big Wicklow stories and we were joined in studio by Finance Minister Simon Harris who chatted about the week in the Dail and the budget. We were also joined in studio by Patricia Wroe, Career Guidance Counsellor who talked about education options for adults without formal education, students under 23 and people with disability. 11- 12pm •We spoke to Tony Mangan who was in Glenealy and who finishes his 4 year run around the world in aid of Aware on Monday at the Dublin Marathon where he started it in 2010 and we were joined in studio by Ivan Yates who talked about his book, life and career. We were also joined in studio by Maclean Burke and Gemma Doorley who talked about acting and writing Joe Prop, a new play which is in part in aid of Barnardos and opens on Monday is Smock Alley Theatre. We also heard about the top ten destinations to visit in 2015 according the Lonely Planet from Holiday Doctor

Thursday 23rd October The Morning Show with Declan Meehan 10- 11am •We discussed the Blood charity which spent state funds on dig kennels with Ivan Cooper, Director for Advocacy, Wheel.ie and we spoke to FG Deputy Andrew Doyle about greenhouse gases being a problem because cows are emitting gas. We were also joined in studio by Sean Duke, Science Journalist who talked about a paralysed man walking again and how if we change out walk, we can change our mood and we spoke to Gabriel Dooley, Dooley Auctioneers about the rumour that 20% deposit could be dropped to 10% for homebuyers. 11- 12pm •We were joined in studio by Wicklow Chef Siobhan Donnelly who chatted about pumpkins and gave Halloween treat ideas and local businessmen ShaneByrne, Show off and Michael Noble of Noble Education dropped in to talk about their respective wins at Regional Finals of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Competition earlier this week. We were also joined in studio by Vet Pete Wedderburn who talked about the rise on popularity of human names for pets and Local Garda Declan Lynch dropped in to give us recent local crime news.
