Niamh's week 2 questionnaire

Has it got any easier now you're in week two?

To be honest I found the first few days of week 2 a little difficult, I think the reality of the challenge set in!! im taking it a week at a time and its working for me doing it that way.

How did you get on this week?

Im getting on grand food wise and the excercising is becoming more enjoyable if that’s the right word to describe it lol. I do feel as the days go by a little better in myself and less sluggish

Are you enjoying it? How do you feel?

I do enjoy it, having good days and bad days but mostly good, im just thinking of my goals and why im doing this everytime im feeling a little sorry for myself.

Are you sore and if so where?

My legs are the sorest after the workouts so a lovely radox bath usually helps soothe that problem but apart from that im feeling fine after the gym

What food do you miss most if any?

I actually feel sorry for pregnant women as from time to time the cravings can be shocking, it could be 10 in the morning and all I want is a Big Mac!! Or after a hectic day in work I would love something bold for dinner but then distract my train of thought with the gym, I work through my hectic days in work in the gym rather than eat through it at home.

Have you broken any/many rules?!

No I have been good to be honest, anything I do eat is part of the healthy eating plan for me, if I tucked into something bold the Guilt would eat through me!

What has been the highlight of the week for you?

The highlight of my week was being able to stand on the bikes during spinning on tues night as I couldn’t do that on the thurs before. I was working out for an hour and a half last night and was still alive by the end of it so happy days!

Have you been motivated enough?

Yes I really have, this evening (weds) my legs were really sore but my trainer encouraged me to keep going through the workout and I felt great when I finish albet very tired J

Any other information you think might be helpful to share with the listeners?

Just to take things slowly and do as best you can exercise wise, even if im tired after work I may feel like im dragging myself to the gym to exercise but I feel so good going to bed afterwards knowing that ive done something.

David's week 2 questionnaire

Has it got any easier now you're in week two?

I have to say it has, for the simple reason I now no longer feel stiff and sore but the workouts have NOT got any easier.

How did you get on this week?

Really well. Cannot believe I got up at 6am on Wednesday to do a booth camp.

Are you enjoying it? How do you feel?

I am really enjoying it and I feel great. Going to bed earlier and getting up without much of a struggle. Down to one push of the snooze button.

Are you sore and if so where?

No more pain !!!!!!!!!

What food do you miss most if any?

Anything that I am not supposed to eat. Wouldn’t it be great if breakfast rolls where harvested? In work we got in Water Melon Bon Bons and I am dying to try them but so far I have beating the temptation.

Have you broken any/many rules?

It was a real shock to find out I have not been eating enough…!!! But when it was explained to me that I need to snack healthy between meals it made sense.

What has been the highlight of the week for you?

Being able to get up Wednesday at 6am to do a boot camp. I’m still in shock I did it.

Have you been motivated enough?

Graham (Ni F├╝hrer) my personal trainer has kept me fully interested and completely motivated. His help and guidance has been priceless.

Any other information you think might be helpful to share with the listeners?

Each morning before I eat breakfast, I juice one whole lemon into a pint glass then fill with luke warm water and down in one. This is fantastic for detoxing; Cost penny’s and rids the body of toxins. One tip though… make sure you are not going for a long drive afterwards. You will pee more than once in 30 mins….lol…!!!!

Irene's week 2 questionnaire

• Has it got any easier now you're in week two?

It has got a bit easier in week two, I am getting used to the exercises and have found myself getting better at spinning. I am now able to stand up where I couldn't last week.
I'm also not getting as tired as I was before the challenge, and my energy levels are much higher.

• How did you get on this week?

I got on well this week, I had my first ever spin class which I really enjoyed, even though it was really hard!
I can definitely feel the effects of this challenge. I have noticed that my watch is much looser, and I can finally get my engagement ring back on for the first time in two years!

• Are you enjoying it and how do you feel?

I am really enjoying this challenge.
I feel much better in myself already.

• Where are you sore?

My bum is quite sore, probably from the spin classes! My thighs are also very sore, which is good!

• What food do you miss, if any?

I miss chocolate, and had to restrain myself from picking at my husband's potatoes last night when I made him dinner! I managed to hold myself back though!

• Have you broken many rules?

I am making every effort to stick to the rules about diet and exercise, and don't think I have broken any so far!
I have my summer holiday coming up so am really concentrating on losing weight.

• What has been the highlight of the week?

I think my workout on Sunday morning was the highlight of the week for me, as I really felt as though I am making progress. My trainer Amira increased my weights and gave me a more intense workout than last week, and I was proud that I am feeling the effects so quickly.

• Have you been motivated enough?

I have defiantly been motivated enough.

• Any information that might be helpful to the listeners?

It is important to listen to the professional fitness instructors as they really do know what they're talking about and what is best for you to do. Also, age doesn't matter when it comes to getting fit and healthy. I am fifty years of age and if I can do it, anyone can!

Georgina's week 2 questionnaire

I still hate Spinning class although it is getting a LITTLE easier....

Jenny's week 2 questionnaire

Has it got any easier now you're in week two?

Yeah, I'm in the swing of it now and nearly feel guilty if I eat something I shouldn't and then I am thinking how hard I would have to work in the gym to burn it off NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOMENT ON THE LIPS LIFE TIME ON THE HIPS

How did you get on this week?

Great, spinning was tough this week but really enjoying the class (Also borrowed a padded seat for the bike so made it a bit easier on the old buns). Great to see everyone and hear how they are getting on.

Are you enjoying it? How do you feel?

Great, once I come out of the gym, it's always tougher going in but I am telling myself to just get on with it and do my best.

Are you sore and if so where?

My bum & tops of my legs. I could barley climb the stairs to bed the other night!!!

What food do you miss most if any?

I am craving sugary food more when I have exercised.

Have you broken any/many rules?

Yeah I had a little rice crispy cake on the weekend HOW BOLD AM I!!!!!! (SHAME ON ME)

What has been the highlight of the week for you?

I can’t believe that it's week two already and I have stuck to the diet (except for the CAKE) and am going to the gym. It’s a great feeling and I have loads more energy!!!

Have you been motivated enough?

Much more than last week and I know that I have more to give!! BRING IT ON

Any other information you think might be helpful to share with the listeners?

Once you get into the swing of it you will feel great and try and remember eating sweets & stuff is just a habit. When I feel like I want something nice to eat I try and do something to distract myself even if it is hovering because by the time that is done the craving is gone.

ANOTHER GROUP CLASS OVER!

Well, I'm just home from Spin and Abs which was our second group class in The Raven Gym and although it was very hard I thought it was also quite enjoyable.
Graham was today's instructor and worked us to a sweat, constantly putting the resistance up on the bikes to make it harder and after half an hour spin we went and did an excruciating half hour of abs (apart from this challenge, those muscles haven't been worked in a while).

We're a week and a half in now and although I don't feel like I've lost much weight, I feel like I've definitely toned up a bit and feel good about myself. I particularly proud of Rob and how he has been doing. Losing 13lbs in one week is fantastic, but more than that he has stuck to his diet and exercise with unbelievable dedication- he's an inspiration to all of us. The team leaders are all doing great as well and I can't wait to hear on Thursday night how many pounds/inches they have lost. Hopefully if you are following our progress, you are finding the motivational tips and diet advice of some use on the get fit page. Let us know if there is anything else that you would like us to put up and tune in Friday morning when Graham and Simona from The Raven will be joining us in studio to give some advice and help. Whatever stage you are at- best of luck! L x
