•We spoke to listeners from Aughrim and Wicklow who are concerned about the septic tank charge and also heard the view of FG Councillor Derek Mitchell. Life skills Coach Carmel Wynne gave advice on communication skills following Enda Kenny’s recent comments about “people’s mad borrowing”.


11- 12am

•Bray Lakers Chairperson Louis O’ Rourke joined us to chat about his life and work in Bray and we heard about Avoca Recycling Centre’s 10 year anniversary and their family fun day taking place on Saturday 28th January from Centre Manager, Myles Doyle.

•We heard how you might be looked after if you gat ill after March following the retirement of a large number of frontline staff in the Health Service from Accident and Emergency Consultant Dr Chris Luke and Irish Patients Association CEO, Steve Mc Mahon. We also spoke to Actor and Director Peter Mc Donald about his best live action short film Oscar nomination for “Pentacost” and the connection with Wicklow. We also heard about Irish Haiti Week from Haven CEO Ann McGuire and Hot Press Journalist Stuart Clarke and Bray based Kelley Ann Gallinagh told us of their experiences visiting Haiti in recent months.

•Chef Siobhan Donnelly joined us to chat about soups, low call dinners and answer listnener foodie questions and Holiday Doctor Joe Supple and John Galligan of Galligan Travel dropped in to tell us where you can find out about the best holidays. We were also joined by Vet Pete Wedderburn who answered listener pet related queries.

•We discussed the €1.25 billion handed over to the bondholders with various contributors and listeners and we were joined by Blogger Barbara Scully and Local businessman and Councillor Eugene Finnegan who give us their reaction to a recent study that shows sex may be to blame for football hooliganism, religious disputes and even world war. We also spoke to author Colette Caddle about her new book “Every Time We Say Goodbye” which is currently number 1in the fiction charts.

•Following New Year and Christmas engagements, we heard what is popular for wedding dress choice this year with Arklow Bridal Designer, Marie McElerhon and we heard about jobs in Technology and an on-line careers fair for those interested from Paul Sweetman, Director ICT Ireland. •We discussed a recent study from the National Disability Authority about attitudes towards people with disabilities with Siobhan Barron, Director of the NDA and Siobhan Kane, Communications and Information Manager with Inclusion Ireland. We also heard the views of FG Deputy Simon Harris and parent and listener Diane talked about her experience of attitude towards her son who has an intellectual disability. We also spoke to Aughrim Tidy Towns Scheme Manager, Barry Moules about the recent and welcome reprieve from closure of the facility.

• We returned to our discussion about attitudes to people with disabilities and Money Watchdog John Diskin joined us to give tips to save on bank costs and charges. Derry Journal journalist Julieann Campbell joined us to talk about her book about bloody Sunday “Setting the Truth Free”.

We also heard an explaination of why the missing croiss may have been considered inappropriate from Anthony Murphy, Author of “Island of the Setting Sun” and runs mythicalireland.ie. We also spoke to Irish Times Pricewatcher Conor Pope about how to save money on fuel.

•We heard money saving parenting advice from Parenting coach Marian Byrne and Consumer Journalist, Tina Leonard told us how to save money on monthly bills. We spoke to Lucy Masterson, from Hireland.ie about the initiative and Niall Hatch from Birdwatch Ireland dropped in to chat about birds.
