We were joined in studio by Former rugby International Shane Byrne, Blogger Barbara Scully and Cllr and Hotelier Pat Casey to chat about the highs and lows of 2011, we had a look at Christmas TV with Claire Darmody and Bray Choral Society Muscial Director Frank Kelly and his musically talented family joined us for some Christmas songs ahead of their carol service in Druids Glen tomorrow evening.


11- 12am

We were joined by members of local band the flying ashtrays for more Christmas songs ahead of the “Jingle Ball Rock” fundraising night in aid of Bray Youth Centre taking place in Katie Gallaghers tonight and Wicklow Area Vincent De Paul President Louis Mc Call told us about the overwhelming success of this years Give a Gift Campaign. Wicklow Times Editor Shay Fitzmaurice and Wicklownews.net Editor Mick Kelly dropped in to give their thoughts on the big Local and National News events of the year.

We heard about new changes to facebooks privacy rules from Technological Consultant Damien Mulley. Age Action Ireland’s Eamonn Timmins reminded us of the importance of keeping an eye on your elderly friends and neighbours over the holiday season and Carol Tallen of Buyers Broker ltd gave us her thoughts on the expected new property tax.


11- 12am
East Coast Physio Avril Barrett joined us to talk about back care with the last minute shopping rush and keeping active over the Xmas break. Druid Chef Rory Moraghan showed us the best way to carve a turkey and gave tips on stuffing and cranberry sauce and Childrens Book Consultant and Author Sarah Webb talked about the top kids books this year.

•We discussed the final announcement of funding for completion of the N11 with FG Deputy Andrew Doyle and the potential for tolling on the road with SF Cllr John Brady. Deputy Doyle later clarified, that according to the Minister there will be no tolling on the N11. We also discussed the charges that go with fire brigade call-outs with John Kidd, Chairman of the Irish Fire and Emergency Association and Michael Horan, Irish Insurance Federation. Shane Willis of A. Caviston joined us to give advice on Christmas starters and cheese boards and chat about the importance of shopping locally.

•We heard tips to avoid overindulgence with food and drink and what to do if you just can’t from Easy Health and Living Editor Emma Parkin and Safefood Microbiologist Dr David Mc Cleery gave advice on avoiding cross contamination, nasty stomach bugs and food poisoning when preparing food and leftovers over the Christmas period. Hot Press Journalist and festival expert Stuart Clarke talked about the end of Oxygen for now and Money Doctor John Lowe dropped in to chat about the latest edition of his money book “The Money Doctor Finance Annual” and how to find the best deals on health insurance.

•We discussed planning issues that one of our listeners is having while trying to renovate his house with him, Richard McDonnell of McDonnellproperties.com and Cllr Jimmy O’ Shaughnessy. Technological Consultant Damien Mulley chatted to us about the top gadgets, tablets and phones this year and we heard about the pop-up gallery on in the Meridan Centre in Greystones until Christmas Eve from local Artist Neil Condron and Photographer Eoin O’ Mahoney.

•We heard about some of the top fiction and non-fiction books of the year from Vice President of Publishing Ireland Peter O’ Connell and Author of How to Be Irish, David Slattery chatted about an Irish Christmas. Miriam Kerins of the DSPCA dropped in to chat about the impact of the cold snap on pets and how to guard against it and Ashford based Psychotherapist Richard Bury joined us to give advice on dealing with family friction over the festive period.

11- 12amLocal Businessman turned author Gerry Carron dropped in to talk about his book “Recession Busters Business Bible” and Parenting Coach Marian Byrne joined us with top tips of surviving Christmas with over-excited kids. We also discussed the new leap card and some potential problems related to it with local FG Councillor James O’ Sullivan and Green Party Transport person Adam Douglas.
