•We were joined in The Beach House in Greystones by local best selling author Anna Mc Partlin, Lobbyist Evelyn Cawley and local Councillor and Businessman Ciaran Hayden to chat about the household charge, the weather and Christmas traditions. Local singer Andrew Hozier Byrne dropped in to perform some Christmas songs and Singer/songwriter Cathy Davey also joined us in Greystones to perform her new single.

11- 12am

•We had a live performance from B and the Honeyboys and Lynne Coyle from O’ Briens Wines dropped in to The Beach House to tell us some of the best white, red and rose wines to enjoy with turkey. We also caught up with Greystones man and TV Director Dave Caffrey to chat about his work with award nominated and record breaking ratings drama Love/Hate and his new BBC project and the inspirational Harlem Choir of New York joined us to perform a couple of songs ahead of their gig in The Mermaid Arts Centre on December 16th and with the Dublin Gospel Choir in the Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely.

•We discussed the new household charge with listeners, Councillor Tommy Cullen and TD Thomas Pringle who is planning on refusing to pay it. Sean Duke, Author of Irish Science Blog Science Spinning dropped in to tell us how to spot a psychopath and the science behind Christmas.

11- 12am
•We heard how to best use leftovers and got an in studio demo from Druid Chef, Rory Moraghan. We were also joined by Vet Pete Wedderburn for more pet care tips for the festive season.

Frank Gleeson Chairperson of Retail Ireland spoke to Declan about the plastic bag tax. Dunnes Stores are challenging a 36million Euro payment for levy on bags. Feargal O’Leary of the National Consumer Agency talked to Declan about the increases in the excess in car insurance. Sorcha Murphy dropped into studio to talk about looking smart in the bad weather. Caller Brian O’Byrne responding to a story Declan mentioned about first response to accidents and heart attacks. Brian is an emergency services volunteer.

11- 12am

• Chris Macey, head of advocacy with the Irish Heart foundation spoke to Declan about stroke and the increase in getting patients to hospital in the west of the country, since the launch of the ACT FAST campaign. Tina Leonard talked to Declan on the phone about her new book about consumer rights in Ireland. John Fitzgerald of Wicklow First Responders returned to the topic of first response for patients in the county. Leo Cullen was in studio for a chat about his book A Captain’s Tale.

•We heard about the leap card from Project Director, Tim Gaston and we spoke to Jenny Sherwin – Arts Officer with Wicklow County Council and member of Wicklow music education project. We were also joined in studio by Reeling in the Years Series Producer, John O’ Regan who chatted about the queen and Barack Obama’s visits and other events of the last 12 months and also his new “reeling in the decades” series.

•We spoke to Greystones Mum Dee O’ Brien about having three of her sons in Australia this Christmas. Private Detective Liam Brady and Lecturer Graham Finlay discussed the life of a PI and the ethics involved and Parenting Coach Marian Byrne dropped in to chat about the importance childhood Christmas memories.
