•We heard about a new report that reveals that number of Irish people with alcohol related illness has quadrupled in recent times from co-author Dr Deirdre Mongan of the Health Research Board. We also spoke to local GP Dr Ciara Kelly and SF Coucillor John Brady about the future of Loughlinstown A&E dept.

11- 12am

•Entertainer Red Hurley joined us for an extended chat about his upcoming gigs, his favourite songs and his life in general. We also tasted some New Zealand wines with Lynne Coyle, O’ Brien Wines.

•We heard about Wicklow County Council having to deal with the material in Whitestown illegal dump in West Wicklow and the costs involved and we got details of what people are entitled to in relation to medical cards, rent allowance, carers allowance and other entitlements from Ann Conan, Information Officer, Citizens Information Centre. We also heard how Zorro was actually an Irish Lad from NUI Senior Lecturer Dr Thomas O’ Connor who was behind the research and reaction from the Cultutal Attahc√© of the Mexican Embassy, Carlos Issuzza.

11- 12am

•Obesity Expert Professor Donal O’ Shea talked to us about how ecstasy may be used in the fight against obesity and the proposed sugar tax. We were joined by Food and Wine Editor, Ross Golden Bannon who reviewed this year’s best cookbooks and kitchen gadgets and also gave his view on slow cooking. We also spoke to Marie Kindlon from Wicklow Hospice Foundation about the opening of their office in Arklow and National Thank You day.

We also heard reaction to FG former Mayor of Naas Darren Scully’s comments yesterday and the latest on Primetime investigates from Wicklow FG TD Andrew Doyle and spoke to David Morrissey of the anti-eviction taskforce.

•Local GP Dr Ernan Gallagher also spoke to us about who is entitled to a medical card and Easy Health and Living Editor Emma Parkin and Easy Food Editor Dee Laffin joined us in studio to give advice on meal makeovers. Author David Slattery joined us to talk about to talk about his book “How to Be Irish”.

•We heard complaints about the Toy Show at the RDS from some of our listeners, East Coast Physio Avril Barett gave us advice on dealing with feet inujuries and issues and local Labour TD Anne Ferris gave us her thoughts on budget leaks including potential cut to child benefit .

•Technological Consultant Damien Mulley talked about the worst 25 internet passwords and told us about computerised contacts that could mean you wont need a PC, laptop or smart phone to view your emails or social network. We also heard about an apparent €19 million that Bray Town Council have from Wicklow Times Editor Shay Fitzmaurice and Bray Mayor Ronan Mc Manus and Foreign Affairs Correspondent Lara Marlowe joined us in studio to talk about her new art book and American politics.
