•We were joined in The Park Restaurant in Arklow by Freddie Millar, Arklow Chamber of Commerce, Becky Loftus, Delbeanys CafĂ© and Caroline Mc Guigan, Suicide or Survive to chat about the big topics of the week. We also had a chat with Arklow Town Clerk, Des Nichols gave us an update on the new river walk, library and other Arklow news and we talked to Jackie Gannon about the towns ongoing fundraising for Srilanka.

11- 12am

•We discussed the Governments claims that they are well prepared if we get another “big freeze” this year with local politician Donal O’Sullivan and we were reminded of last year when listener Tony O’ Grady recounted his experience of being stranded in the snow for over a week. We ehard the latest from the oure mile project from Ian Davis and we heard live music from Southern Folk Tenant Union.

•We spoke to Alistair Campbell about his fight with addiction ahead of his talk in Toranfield House today and author Maria Duffy joined us to talk about her book “Any Dream will Do” and her experience with twitter. We paid tribute to Rathdrum based cartoonist Terry Willers who passed away last night with Friend Denis Carter and fellow cartoonists Martyn Turner and Tom Matthews.

11- 12am

•Donnellies Chef Siobhan Donnelly talked to us about the versatility the eggs and which to buy, holiday doctor Joe Supple gave us advice on escorted holidays. Vet Pete Wedderburn talked us about mice and how to train Siberian huskys and we heard final tribute to Terry.

We also spoke to the researcher who has discovered bio-degradable chewing gum.

• Psychologist Maureen Gaffney told us how to get through the doom and gloom caused by the recession with a positive attitude and about her new book Flourish, we discussed the shock statistics’ of teen alcohol addicts and why game consoles are really toys for big boys and the popularity of the new Call of Duty game.

•We spoke to family and staff members a this mornings protest who will impacted by the closure of St Brigids Nursing Home and we talked to local GP Dr Ernan Gallagher about the anaesthetic that killed Michael Jackson. We were also joined by East Coast Physio Avril Barrett who talked about Brian O’ Driscolls injury.

•We met two Greystones business women who told us how they are managing through difficult times with a ladies night out, Reverend Bayden Stanley joined us to talk about the transformation of Christ Church Bray for rememberance day and we spoke to Wicklow woman Therese Stockwell ahead of her third trip to Cape Town to take part in the Niall Mellon Challenge.

We spoke to the Garda Representatives Association President about the shortage of Gardai and the closure of stations, we also spoke to Newtown resident Anne Gregory about the planned closure of the Newtown Garda Station and Fr Arthur O’ Neill gave us his views on claims from the Vatican that sermons are “dull and grey” and need to be livened up with “scandal”

11- 12am

•Miriam Kerins, DSPCA told us why people shouldn’t keep exotic animals as pets and Pete Brennan of Beatles Ireland talked to us about why the Beatles record covers are among the most valuable in the world and the anniversary of their Dublin gig today. Crime author and journalist Paul Williams also dropped in to talk about his new book “Bad Fellas”
