•Wickow Chef Siobhan Donnelly joined us to give tips on Italian cooking, Money Watchdog John Diskin told us how to save money on phone bills and Congolese musician living in Greystones Niswel Tsumbu joined us to perform live.

We also got reaction from fans of Westlife and showbiz reporter Paul Martin about the bands decision to split.

•Vet Peter Wederburn joined us in studio to answer listener queries and was joined by Caroline Jesep, WSPCA who chatted about their new fundraising initiative and TV3’s Andrea Hayes of Animal A&E ahead of the expose on puppy farms. We also spoke to presidential hopeful Dana about her ordeal during the week ahead of her visit to Arklow today and Psychologist Owen Fitzpatrick told us why older is actually wiser and why board games are good for your brain.

•We discussed the possibility of calories appearing on restaurant menus with Dietician Sarah Keogh, we got comment on the changes to consumer law from consumer journalist Tina Leonard and heard about the planned redundancies for Wicklow company Schering Plow from Councillor Jimmy O’ Shaughnessy.

•Reporter Fergal O’ Brien gave us the news of 950 redundancies from Aviva Insurance, Wexford Journalist and author Tom Mooney dropped in to talk about his book “All the Bishops Men” and we heard from Wicklow Chess players Stephan Stokes and Seamus Duffy, who discussed new schools programme “Chess for All”, the popularity of the game, why it should be recognised as a sport and how it can help elderly people and teenagers.

•Richard Mc Donnell, Mc Donnell Properties talked to us about the rise in renovations and refurbishment as the main option for people who can no longer sell their homes to upgrade and Matthew Jebb, Director of National Botanic Gardens talked to us about the disease that could cause the extinction of the horse chesnut tree.
