The Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Tuesday 24th May

Tuesday 24TH May
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

‘Is féidir Linn’ no conversation in the country started today without the now world famous phrase used by Barak Obama and the Morning Show with Declan Meehan was no exception. The US President’s cousin Henry Healy told us all about meeting the main man himself and his in-depth discussion with the First Lady in Moneygall. All eyes were on the sky then as Met Eireann gave us their forecast for the Icelandic ash cloud that’s threatening to disrupt the travel plans of thousands of air passengers. And we came back down to earth with a bang, as Greystones man Ken Loftus told us how he came runner up in the RedBull Flug Tag at the weekend, despite the fact that his homemade plane failed to soar above Dun Laoghaire harbour.

Our reporter Laura Wood was out and about for the ‘Buy My Dress’ charity event this Saturday while the East Coast physio Avril Barrett told us all about getting back in shape for summer and fit squad founder Kate Ryan gave us ideas for how to stay fit when the kids get their holidays.

And as if all that wasn’t enough Author Helen Moorehouse dropped by the studio with her new novel and we celebrated the 70th birthday of music legend Bob Dylan.

The Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Monday 23rd MAY

Monday 23rd May
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

The historic visit of US President Barak Obama got the conversation started on today’s edition of the Morning Show with Declan Meehan. Political correspondent Padraig Gallagher told us what expect when Ireland’s long lost son touches down on Irish soil for the first time and aviation journalist Gerry Byrne got to the truth behind the rumours surrounding Obama’s helicopters.
Our focus stayed stateside when Kathleen Kelleher brought us up to date on the latest goings on with shamed banker David Drumm’s financial affairs as he files for bankruptcy in the US.

There was also a wide range of advice on offer with tips from our experts on everything from DIY divorce to shopping online and former international rugby ace Shane Byrne gave us his thoughts on Johnny Sexton’s now famous, half-time, words of wisdom during Leinster’s Heineken cup win in Cardiff.

Not one but two musicians dropped by the East Coast studios as Declan was entertained by Eurovision legend Johnny Logan and singer-song writer Francie Conway and we rounded out the show with a lively discussion on life, death and all things in-between with our panel of garrulous guests including Morning Show regular Barbara Scully.
