Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Friday 20th May 2011

Friday 20th MAY
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

The historic visit of Queen Elizabeth to Ireland got the conversation started on today’s edition of the Morning Show with Declan Meehan; author and former Miss Ireland Amanda Brunker gave us all the backstage gossip from last night’s glittering, royal performance at the Convention Centre in Dublin. Another member of the star-studded guest list, Senator David Norris, then dropped by the studio to fill Declan in on his presidential bid and the renowned historian mentioned his special appreciation for Wicklow’s famous Gaol.

There was no excuse not to listen to resident GP Ciara Kelly when she told Declan the top 10 lies we tell doctors and East Coast’s Laura Wood reported live from a special golf classic in aid of Greystones cancer support. The sporting theme continued with a preview of the action packed weekend ahead for Wicklow with Gaelic Games commentator Michael Sargent whlie rugby legend Shane Byrne gave his predictions for Leinster’s Heineken cup hopes in Cardiff.

And if all that wasn’t enough there was a touching personal tribute from TD Andrew Doyle to the late former Taoiseach Garett Fitzgerald as well as business advice from author Blaise Brosnan and Money doctor John Diskin and all the usual mix of callers and competitions.
