We also spoke to technological expert Damien Mulley and Irish Patients Association Chairman Stephen mc Mahon about what they need from the election.

Today’s show also included a chat with author Denise Deegan about her new book “and by the Way”, world record breaking Bray based rower Robert Byrne joined us in studio to tell us about his fantastic achievement and we ehard details of missing stag statue in Rathrdrum.

New Music on East Coast FM

It's another big week for new music on East Coast FM with several new additions to the playlist. This week, we have added the brand new song from Lady Gaga - Born This Way which is breaking the charts in several countries.

Jedward were on The Late Late Show on Friday, and won the Eurosong with their new single "Lipstick" which is now Ireland's entry to The Eurovision Song Contest.

Britney Spears's new song "Hold It Against Me" is also doing really well and her video is set for release with several teaser trailers being released on YouTube.

Last nights election husting in Arklow was just one of the topics we covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard opinion on the debate from Wicklow Chamber President Denis Fielding and Arklow Chamber spokesperson Susan Breen and we heard analysis of this constituency from Wicklow and Bray people journalist Esther Hayden. Other election coverage included a Wicklow candidate debate with Independent Candidates Michael Mulvehille, Anthony Fitzgerald and Peter Dempsey and a catch up with the reporters following the campaign trail of the main party Leaders. We also discussed election issues in relation to fuel poverty with Irish Rural Link Chief Executive Seamus Boland and education with IBEC Head of Education, Tony Donahoe and USI President Gary Redmond.

Today’s show also included reaction to the news that the Morning after pill is available to be sold over the counter without prescriptions from IPU President Darragh O’Loughlin and we heard a list of the winners and the losers from the years Brit awards from Morning Show reporter, Laura Wood.

Other election coverage included a Wicklow candidate debate with Gerry Kinsella, Fis Nua, Tom Fortune, Labour and Niall Byrne, Green Party.

Today’s show also details of the launch of the County Wicklow Business Network, Health and fitness consultant Helen Walsh joined us to tell us how important vegetables are for overall wellbeing and author Neil Hegarty joined us in studio about his book “Story of Ireland – in search of a new national memory”

Today’s show also featured top tips on getting the family up and out earlier in the Morning from Parenting Coach, Marian Byrne, we heard a review of the IFTA’s, BAFTA’s and the Grammys from Morning Show reporter, Laura Wood and we discussed the weekends rugby with Former Rugby International Shane Byrne.

Today’s election coverage included a discussion between SF candidate John Brady, FG candidate Simon Harris and FF candidate Dick Roche and we spoke to political analyst, Noel Whelan about his latest book; The Tallyman's Campaign Handbook: Election 2011.
