Feargal O’Leary of the National Consumer Agency talked to Declan about the increases in the excess in car insurance. Sorcha Murphy dropped into studio to talk about looking smart in the bad weather. Caller Brian O’Byrne responding to a story Declan mentioned about first response to accidents and heart attacks. Brian is an emergency services volunteer.

• Chris Macey, head of advocacy with the Irish Heart foundation spoke to Declan about stroke and the increase in getting patients to hospital in the west of the country, since the launch of the ACT FAST campaign. Tina Leonard talked to Declan on the phone about her new book about consumer rights in Ireland. John Fitzgerald of Wicklow First Responders returned to the topic of first response for patients in the county. Leo Cullen was in studio for a chat about his book A Captain’s Tale.
