We were joined by members of local band the flying ashtrays for more Christmas songs ahead of the “Jingle Ball Rock” fundraising night in aid of Bray Youth Centre taking place in Katie Gallaghers tonight and Wicklow Area Vincent De Paul President Louis Mc Call told us about the overwhelming success of this years Give a Gift Campaign. Wicklow Times Editor Shay Fitzmaurice and Wicklownews.net Editor Mick Kelly dropped in to give their thoughts on the big Local and National News events of the year.

•We discussed the final announcement of funding for completion of the N11 with FG Deputy Andrew Doyle and the potential for tolling on the road with SF Cllr John Brady. Deputy Doyle later clarified, that according to the Minister there will be no tolling on the N11. We also discussed the charges that go with fire brigade call-outs with John Kidd, Chairman of the Irish Fire and Emergency Association and Michael Horan, Irish Insurance Federation. Shane Willis of A. Caviston joined us to give advice on Christmas starters and cheese boards and chat about the importance of shopping locally.

•We heard tips to avoid overindulgence with food and drink and what to do if you just can’t from Easy Health and Living Editor Emma Parkin and Safefood Microbiologist Dr David Mc Cleery gave advice on avoiding cross contamination, nasty stomach bugs and food poisoning when preparing food and leftovers over the Christmas period. Hot Press Journalist and festival expert Stuart Clarke talked about the end of Oxygen for now and Money Doctor John Lowe dropped in to chat about the latest edition of his money book “The Money Doctor Finance Annual” and how to find the best deals on health insurance.

• We started the show with a caller, Julie-Anne, a local mum of three. She was talking to Declan about statistics released today about 1 in 4 three-year olds in Ireland being overweight. Ruth Kennedy did a quick round up of what’s happening in the world of Twitter. In studio, we had Eileen Earls from Wicklow Cancer Support Centre and Leo Newsome a Wicklow barman. They were promoting a charity calendar with photos of Wicklow barmen (almost) naked, who stripped off all in the aid of Wicklow Cancer support. Music journalist and comedy writer Damian Corless came in to chat to Declan about his new book “You’ll Ruin your Dinner”. It’s all about the Irish love affair with sweets, and full of stories about traditional Irish confectionary brands like Lemons and Caffreys.

• Community activist Mary-Anne Kennedy spoke to us from limerick about her village Effin, which Facebook don't want her to use on her page. She is fighting for the identity of her village to be recognised worldwide. Mary-Anne is a local historian and amateur drama director, who works at the University of Limerick as an administrator. Declan said he hoped to visit the "effin village" sometime!.
Stylist and TV presenter Lisa Fitzpatrick spoke to Declan about her SOS Save our Shops programme starting on TV3 tonight. Lisa helps struggling retailers boost their customer service. On the phone was regular contributor and tech-wizard Damien Mulley talking to Declan about reports of iPhones going on fire spontaneously. John Diskin, our money advisor was in studio talking to Declan about the move away from credit to debit cards this Christmas season. Barry Orr from Betfair spoke to Declan about soccer – Euro 2012, Rugby, horseracing, Xfactor and I’m a Celebrity Get me out of here! Lynne Coyle of O’Briens Wines came in with her colleague Daniel to review three bottles of reasonably priced Italian and Portuguese wines.

•We spoke to Reporter Louse Kelly from Blessington following the tragic death of local Garda Ciaran Jones during last night’s flooding, we heard tribute to the heroic actions of Garda Jones, the circumstances which led up to the accident and condolences to his family from Wicklow Chief Superintendent Tom Conway. Bill Downes of Wicklow Civil Defence filled us in on other flooding related incidents around the County last night and Bray Cllr Mick Glynn and Wicklow Mayor Pat Byrne gave us details on damage in their parts of the County.

11- 12am

•We heard more on flooding and changes to the driving test from AA’s Conor Faughnan and East Coast Physio Avril Barrett told us how to deal with the bad weather and how it impacts sciatica and arthritis complaints and she gave final tips ahead of the marathon. We also heard clips of the final presidential debate and got reaction from political correspondent Padraig Gallagher.
