Today’s Morning Show with Joe Harrington was broadcast live from The Burnaby Pub in Greystones. We were joined there by Mayor of Greystones, Ciaran Hayden, Alison Banton, Greystones Retailers Association and Jonathan White, Greystones Chamber of Commerce, who promoted shopping local and free parking in the area.

The show also featured tips on preparing Christmas lunches and starters
From Shane Willis of ACaviston, we heard about Greystones as a very liveable community from Liv-Com project leader, Grainne Mc Loughlin and we discussed about sailing and rugby in Greystones.

The alleged heave against the Taoiseach and the in-fighting between opposition parties was just one of the topics we discussed on the Morning Show with Joe Harrington. We heard comment on this from Political Correspondent, Padraig Gallagher.

On today’s show we also got advice on keeping the kids calm through the festive period from Parenting Coach, Marian Byrne, we discussed the issue of homelessness during this severe cold spell with recently housed Joe and Annette Plunkett of the Wicklow Homeless five loaves soup Kitchen and Holiday Doctor, Joe Supple gave us value deals and travel tips for winter sun holdiays.

Budget 2010 was the main topic we discussed on the Morning Show with Joe Harrington. We heard an overview of yesterday’s budget from Deloitte and Touche, Director of Tax, Ian Mc Call. We were also joined in studio for further details and comment by Money Watchdog, John Diskin and local accountant Noel Geraghty.

Our budget coverage on today’s show included comment from opposition local Deputies Liz Mc Manus and Andrew Doyle and Minister for European Affairs, Dick Roche. We got reaction to cuts from the Union of Students in Ireland, Vincent De Paul, Money Advice and Budgeting Service and The Wickow Trade Union Centre for the Unemployed. We also heard details on tax changes from Una McGuire, Director, Irish Taxation Institute and spoke to AA’s Conor Faughnan about the increase in petrol prices.

The on-going severe weather conditions and the impact on the businesses in the County was just one of the topics we discussed on the Morning Show with Joe Harrington. We heard comment on this from local business people; Bill Porter, Avondale Sports, Rathdrum and Angela from Quinns of Baltinglass. We also discussed the issues being faced by farmers during these difficult weather conditions with Wicklow farmer, Pat Nuttal.

On today’s show we heard tips on having a tasty but recession friendly Christams Dinner from Easy Food Editor Ciara McDonnell, Mary Byrne’s brother gave us his reaction to Sunday nights X-Factor results show and Johnny Giles spoke to us about his book The Football Man, an Autobiography.

The on-going severe weather conditions and the impact on the County was the main topic we discussed on the Morning Show with Joe Harrington. We heard further details on the traffic, weather and cancellations from residents around the county. We were also joined by three members of the Wicklow Civil Defence who talked about receiving a record number of calls over the last few days and are launching a new flood response vehicle today.

On today’s show we heard advice for recession friendly Christmas shopping from Consumer Association of Ireland CEO, Dermot Jewell, we chatted to former snooker world champion Ken Doherty about this years Snooker UK Championship and entertainment correspondent Eddie Rowley joined us to talk about his book about Joe Dolan.

The Morning Show also featured a discussion about the do’s and don’ts of dating and finding love after 40 with Transpersonal Psychologist, Ann Donnelly and Political Correpsondent Padraig Gallagher spoke to us about the Independent TD’s and opposition ahead of the budget.
