Shels knock 4 past poor Seagulls

"A game of two halves" is an old football cliche and this was very appropriate to Wanderers in this afternoon's final of the Leinster Senior Cup Final played at the Carlisle. Wanderers were good in the first half and woeful in the second.

The Seagulls spurned a number of chances in the opening half and fell behind on 41 minutes to a Dinnie Corcoran goal.

Three second half goals from David Cassidy (57 mins), Mark Hughes (73 mins) and Mark Leech (82 mins) put the game out of Wanderers reach. A huge disappointment after a sparkling display up in Drogheda on Friday night.

Hopefully Manager Eddie Gormley can lift his players for next Friday's important league game at home to Sligo Rovers.
