The proposal by Sean Barrett, FG TD to have summer-time all year round was one of the main topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We spoke to Deputy Barrett about the reasons for his proposal and we heard about the UK’s “Lighter Later” initiative from Eugenie Harvey, campaign Director of 10.10 Climate Change Campaign. We also got comment on the plan from Mark Fielding, ISME, James Hill, Wicklow County Chairman, Irish Farmers Association and Catherine Coveney, Principal, St Laurences N.S, Greystones.

On this morning’s show we also heard a review of the latest world cup matches live from Cape Town, we heard about the latest good news recession report from Ernst and Young Partner, Com Devine and Journalist and Author, Sue Leoanard jojned us in studio to talk about her new book “Keys to the Cage”, How People Cope with Depression.

The new drink driving laws were just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We spoke to President of the Vitners Federation of Ireland, Gerry Mellet and also heard comment from Author of the Book of Auld Fella’s, Declan Lynch.

On this morning’s show we heard reaction to the proposed visit by Queen Elizabeth II from Local Sinn Fein Councillor John Brady, we heard an update on the Wicklow entrant to The Round Ireland Yacht Race from Wicklow Sailing Club Commodore, Charlie Kavanagh and we discussed the future of greystones development with local councillors Kathleen Kelleher and George Jones.

We also got staycation tips from Holiday Doctor Joe Supple and we heard review of the latest world cup matches and Wimbledon so far.

The new ‘intrusive approach’ to banking regulations was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got comment on it from the Labour Deputy Leader and Finance spokesperson Joan Burton. We also heard reaction from money doctor John Lowe.

On The Morning Show we got reaction to the errors found on the Leaving Cert accounting paper with Maura Leydon Assistant General Secetary of the ASTI and Rose Tulley Spokesperson with the National Parents Council (Post Primary).

Also on the show Charlie Kavanagh, Commodore of the Wicklow Sailing Club gave us an update on the latest movements of the boats, using GPS Tracking which can be seen on www.roundirelandyachtrace.ie/

The Morning Show also had musician Oliver Cole in studio who preformed live and Sean Ronan who is the Director of J M Sing’s play ‘Tinkers Weeding' which is on in the International Bar on Wicklow Street in Dublin 2.

Graeme Mc Dowell’s win at the US Open was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We spoke to Jim Blee, Manager of Rathmore Golf Club, Portrush and Golf Correspondent Walter Townson about the first European winner in 40 years.

On this morning’s show we got a review of all the latest world cup matches live from Cape town, we discussed the future of food labelling with Irish Times Pricewatcher Conor Pope and Director of food and drink Industry, Paul Kelly and we heard career advice from author Jane Downes, Jane’s book is published by Blackhall Press and is called The Career Book, Help for the Restless Realist.


The Morning Show also featured an interview about reference prices and generic medicines. We discussed this with Pharmacist and IPU spokesperson Grainne O’ Leary and Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association Director of Commercial Affairs, Brian Murphy.
