The Morning Show with Declan Meehan
Declan Meehan was back in the hot seat and straight down to business on today’s Morning Show. The discussion kicked off with a report on the fate of the Irish passengers caught in the raid on the Palestinian aid flotilla.
The proposed cuts to the One Parent Family Payment scheme provoked a strong reaction from our listeners next when we heard from the Director of ‘One Family’, Karen Kiernan. Eugene Murray from the Irish Hospice Foundation then spoke to Declan about a new bill on end of life care, and Bray student Maeve Galvin told us all about her upcoming trip to Nigeria to promote AIDS awareness. Luckily however Shay Healy, Gareth Farrell and Mick Lynch were soon on hand to lighten the mood in the studio, with their take on Ireland’s Eurovision flop.
Finally, author and professional ‘Cork Man’ Mark Hayes dropped into East Coast to share tales of his hilarious adventures in LA, while Carol Coffey gave us a sneak preview of her latest book, ‘The Penance Room’.

Mugshot Monday on Freshly Squeezed!
Well I was back on Freshly Squeezed after a couple of weeks off and we got straight back into it with a busy show- it's nice to be back! We had a winner on The Famous Five and we tried out Mugshot Monday on each other which we will playing against whoever is brave enough from next Monday- Rob asked me 3 celebrity gossip questions, of which I got two right but made him give me the mug anyway, and I played him clips of 3 songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's and he got almost two right- they were very difficult though!!We caught up on all the latest celebrity news and gossip- Ronan and Yvonne Keating, the break-up of Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson, and the death of Dennis Hopper. Gareth joined us from the news room and we had some bizarre stories for news of the weird. We also said hello to all the people who had been at the after-work party in The Powerscourt Arms Hotel on Friday which I missed because I was away at a wedding, but apparently it was great craic and Rob filled me in with plenty of stories!Tune in again tomorrow from 6 for more fun and frollicks.
