Drogheda escape from Bray with a point

Drogheda Utd came from 2-0 down to snatch a dramatic draw at the Carlisle last night.

Both sides finished with 10 men with Shane O'Connor (53( and Drogheda's Jamie Duffy (89) were shown red by Referee Padraig Sutton who made some extraordinary decisions during the course of the game.

Jake Kelly and Shane O'Neill gave Wanderers a 2-0 lead at the break.

Brendan McGill pulled one back for Drogheda on 79 mins and Joe Kendrick levelled for Drogheda from the penalty spot with 6 minutes left giving Drogheda a share of the points they did not deserve. .

The Saving Childhood Ryan campaign was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got details on this 8 organisation joint response to the Ryan report from Jennifer Gargan – Irish Association of young people in care. Jennifer spoke to Declan about the plan of 8 child protection organisations to fight together for children. We also heard comment from local FG councillor Simon Harris who attended the campaign launch.

On this morning’s show we heard comment on the US discovery of synthetic life from Joint editor of Science Spin, Sean Duke. We also talked about the phenomenen of Twitter with Technological Corresponent, Damien Mulley and Irish Daily Mirror, Show Biz Correpsondent Paul Martin gave us his reaction to yesterday’s announcement of Ronan Keating’s marriage split.

The Morning Show also featured an interview about clever investments in the current economic climate. Money Watchdog John Diskin joined us in studio to give advice on the safest way to get a return on your money, we also heard tips from Eoin Kennedy, New Ireland Insurance.

Bray V Drogheda - Team News

Bray Wanderers welcome Drogheda United to the Carlisle Grounds for this must win Airtricity League tie for the Co. Wicklow side. ( Friday 21st may K.O. 7;45)

Bray Boss Eddie Gormley has am injury nightmare and will definitely have five missing for the game . while four others are on the doubtful list. Richie Baker (back),Stephen Brennan (hamstring),David Tyrrell (ankle),David O'Neill (groin) and Dean Zambra (knee) are definite non starters while late fitness tests will decide on the availability of Robbie Doyle (ankle),Jake Kelly (ankle), Chris Shield (ankle) and John Mulroy (calf).

Padraic moran caught up with Eddie Gormley and began by asking him " how he felt about the defeat to UCD".

The high cost of paying motor insurance in instalments was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got advice on shopping around from Money Doctor John Lowe.

On this morning’s show we heard about dads suffering from post natal depression from Director of Aware, Dr Harry Barry, Author Andrew Mc Cann gave us advice on knowing your rights and we heard how Irish plants and birds are becoming extinct at a rapid rate from Isabel Smith, Head of Communications, Heritage Council of Ireland.

The Morning Show also featured an interview about the problem of irresponsible dog owners who don’t clean up after their pets. We heard an example of the widespread problem from Blessington listener Phylis Plant. We got comment on this on-going issue from Moira Byrne, Environmental Awareness Officer, Wicklow County Council and Arklow Litter Warden Cori Bateman and Chairperson of Aughrim Tidy Towns committee Bernard Keating explained how they deal with the problem in his community.

Yesterday’s announcement of job losses in Pfizer was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard reaction to this from Dunlaoighre-Rathdown FG TD Sean Barrett. We also discussed this and the future of similar companies with Matt Moran, Director of Phamachemical Ireland and the possible impact on Wicklow with local Councillors Pat Fitzgerlad and Jimmy O’ Shaughnessy.

On this morning’s show we heard reaction to a recent report on hospital injuries from Stephen Mc Mann from the Irish Patients Association, we discussed Minister Eamonn Ryan’s proposal for “free to air” rugby with Former Rugby International Mick Quinn and Green Party Councillor Ciaran O’ Brien and we heard advice on taking care of your garden during the expected heat wave from Gardner John Stephenson. John will be giving a talk in Garden World at the National Garden Exhibition Centre, Kilquade as part of their open day which is taking place this Saturday 22nd May from 11.am.

The Morning Show also featured an interview about changing consumer habits. Dermot Jewell, CEO, Consumer Association of Ireland spoke to Declan about the increase in consumers shopping around and getting more value for their money. We also heard about value deals from Rory Butler who has set up new recession friendly website www.thatsagreatoffer.com

A law reform commission report on personal debt was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard details from LRC Director of Research, Raymond Byrne

On this morning’s show we also heard the new plan on dealing with continuing travel disruptions caused by volcanic ash from Aviation Author and Journalist Gerry Byrne, we spoke to second year students from Colaiste Craomh Abhann, Kilcoole about the raising of their first green flag and reporter Linda Geraghty told us about the brand new Daycare centre in Donard.

The Morning Show also featured an in studio interview with Wicklow Chamber of Commerce President, Denis Fielding about the upcoming Wicklow Business Exhibition. Wicklow's four County Chambers have teamed up to organise a major Business Expo on May 21st at the Marriott Druid’s Glen at 11am. This a showcase of what Wicklow Businesses have to offer – including IT, financial, accounting, catering and print services. Over 70 businesses from the County’s four chamber areas – Wicklow, Bray, Greystones and Arklow - will come together to showcase their products and services for the one day-event
