The Morning Show with Declan Meehan


The changes in Dublin Bus was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard reaction to this from NBRU Spokesperson Michael Flaherty and got comment from local councillors John Brady and Simon Harris.

On this morning’s show we got comment on car registrations being up by 68% on last month from SIMI spokesperson Suzanne Sheridan, we discussed the large number of incidents of medical negligence in hospitals with Chairman and co-founder of The Irish Patients Association Stephen Mc Mahon and Wicklow solicitor Michael Boylan (Augustus Cullen Law) andwe returned to the topic of headshops with Hon President EURAD, Grainne Kenny.

The Morning Show also featured a final wrap-up with all the organisers from each of the nine East Coast fm Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning venues, Declan head how each event went and heard the total reached so far. Shamrock Rovers V Bray Wanderers- Team News

Bray Wanderers travel to Tallaght Stadium to take on Shamrock Rovers in the Airtricity Premier Division. (Friday 23rd April K.O 8PM)

Eddie Gormley will be hoping his side can bounce back after last Tuesday 4 nil defeat at the hands of St Pats.

Team News for the Seagulls is as follows .
Veteran defender Colm Tresson,winger Richie Baker and midfielder Stephen Brennan all picked up hamstring injuries and will have to sit this one out.
While striker Shane O'Neill has a hip injury that will see him sidelined.
Ian Touhy,David O'Neill and Adam O'Connor have been added to the travelling squad.

Padraic Moran Caught up with Eddie Gormley and began by asking him" how disappointed he was with the manner of the defeat to St Pats last Tuesday".

Last season at Tallaght Stadium Bray won one game 1-0 the goal coming from dane Massey whle in the other game Rovers were victorious 3-1 Dave Webster getting the Bray goal.

Reaction to Richie Bouchers decision to hand back his pension deal was the main topic covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got comment from councillors Richard Boyd Barrett and Ciaran Hayden and also heard reaction from Labour spokesperson on Finance Joan Burton and Money doctor John Lowe.

On today’s Morning Show Declan discussed a new EU survey that reported Ireland as the biggest binge drinkers with EU Commission representation press officer Phillipe Carr and Director of AWARE Dr Harry Barry and also heard further reaction to the decisions taken on air travel with Irish Airline Pilot Association President Captain Evan Cullen.

The end of the travel disruptions caused by volcanic dust was the main topic covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got details of how various companies have been coping with the last few days. We heard from Bus Eireann, Stena line Ferries and the Dublin Airport authority and we heard an update on the situation in Dublin Airport with reporter Sinead Hussey. We also heard from the Irish Pharmacy Union who have been helping stranded people with prescriptions and got advice for people still making their way home from John Galligan of John Galligan travel and East Coast holiday Doctor Joe Supple

On today’s Morning Show Declan discussed Labour’s proposed constitional re-write with solicitor and assistant editor of Sunday Business Post Kieron Wood, he also got comment from Labour Senator Alex White and FG Deputy Andrew Doyle.

Saints March over Seagulls

Wanderers remain firmly rooted at the bottom of the Premier Division after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of St Patricks Ath at the Carlisle last night loosing 4 nil

Former Seagull, Paul Byrne put St Pats in front on 26 minutes. Pats scored three more in a five minute spell through Conor Kenna 34mins, Shane Guthrie 37mins and Gareth Coughlan 39mins.

St Pats also had two goals disallowed for offside in the second half.

The on-going travel disruptions caused by volcanic dust was the main topic covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We got an update from Met Eireann and Former Chief Pilot with British Airways, John Leahy. We also heard from Musician Paddy Cole and Wicklow resident Brian Kennedy, both are abroad and currently en route home using alternative travel arrangements.

On today’s Morning Show Declan discussed the ghost towns and the options available with Minister Ciaran Cuffe, Respond communications officer, Aoife Walsh and President of the Irish Planning Institute Gerrry Sheeran, we heard advice on how to best dress for your curvy body shape from Escape Boutique’s Sorcha Murphy and George Jacob joined us in studio to talk about this years Bray Jazz Festival. Bray Wanderers V St.Patrick's Ath.- Team News

Bray Wanderers take on St Patrick's Athletic in the Airtricity Premier Division.(Tuesday 20th April K.O.7;45 Carlisle Grounds.)

Eddie Gormley will be hoping his side can pick up their first win of the season, Team News is as follows.
Jake Kelly, Shane O'Neill,James Kavanagh and veteran Colm Tresson all missed the win over Drogheda Utd. last Monday night in the E.A. Sports Cup 1st round with injury, but have all now been declared fit .

Padraic Moran caught up with Eddie Gormley and began by asking him" about the nature of the defeat to Sligo Rovers".
