The Morning Show
Friday 16th April

Thousands of Wicklow people came out today to support East Coast FM’s annual Wicklow Wide Coffee Morning in aid of the all of the cancer support services and centre’s in County Wicklow and The Wicklow Hospice Foundation. Coffee mornings took place in nine different venues throughout the Garden County while separate coffee mornings were organised in other part in conjuction with the Morning Show.

Declan linked in with Best selling authors Cathy Kelly, Sarah Webb and Paul Howard (Ross O’Carroll Kelly) who were joined by sports personalities Shane Byrne and Mick O’ Dwyer and Magician Jack Wise to show their support by making appearances around the county on the day. However, Top Celebrity Gardener Diarmuid Gavin and King of the Swingers Paddy Cole, both confirmed to take part on the day, were forced to pledge their support to Declan over the phone, having been stranded abroad and unable to get flights due to the unforeseen closure of European airspace. Musicians Bagatelle, Dickie Rock, Eleanor Mc Evoy, Mary Coughlan, Don Mescall, The Dublin Gospel Choir, Luan Parle, Eurovision winning singer songwriter Paul Harrington and West End star Rebecca Storm had no transport issues and provided fantastic live performances at different venues of the event. Declan caught up with East Coast reporters at every venue and interviewed each performer.

Every penny raised on the day will go directly into these vital cancer support services and the figure raised is already over €25,000 You can still donate on line at www.eastcoast.fm/coffee.
