Wanderers slump to a third defear in a row




Wanderers slumped to their third straight defeat, this time at the hands of Sporting Fingal at the Carlisle tonight.

Former Seagull Eamon Zayed put Fingal in front on 15 minutes. They doubled their lead in the 53rd minute through Gary O'Neill. Shane O'Neill pulled one bach for Wanderers on 75 minutes but Gary O'Neill struck again 6 minutes later to give sporting Fingal all three points.

The public service go-slow was just one of the topics that dominated today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard how it is impacting the people of Wicklow. Declan heard comments from a number of listeners and councillors Irene Winters, Ciaran Hayden and Derek Mitchell.

On today’s Morning Show we heard a portrait of Seany Fitzpatrick from journalist and author Martina Devlin and Morning Show reporter Laura Wood gave us regular updates from Bray Gardai station, we discussed the ever increasing price of petrol and had a chat with Former rugby international Shane Byrne about this weekends match.

The Morning Show also featured an in studio interview with Psychotherapist and NLP practioner Brian Colbert. Brian gave advice on staying optimisitic and having a positive life outlook and also talked about his latest book “The Happiness Habit”.

Bray Wanderers v Sporting Fingal - Team News

Bray Wanderers take on Sporting Fingal in the Airtricity Premier Division, in the Carlisle Grounds .(tonight K.O. 7;45)

Team News is as Follows
Defender Dane Massey will serve a one match ban when Bray take on Sporting FingaL while Richie Baker is a doubt with a groin strain and he will have a late fitness test.David O'Neill and Dave Webster come back into the squad.

Speaking during the week Manager Eddie Gormley said he was disappointed not to have got a result last Friday.He said "Poor finishing proved our undoing again".He added "I am confident going into Friday night and if the players equip themselves as they have done in the last two weeks we should get something out of the game.We will take the game to them and hopefully get off the mark".

The possibility of first time buyers facing negative equity for the next ten years was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard details from Money Doctor John Lowe and got reaction from local auctioneers Raymond Gaffney and Gabriel Dooley.

On today’s Morning Show we got a full round up of St Patricks Day festivals taking place around the County, we heard further reaction to Cardinal Brady’s resistance to calls for his resignation from One in Four Advocacy Director, Deirdre Kenny and Clinical Psychologist Dr Patrick Ryan gave Declan advice on dealing with troublesome teenagers and talked about his new book “You can’t make me”

The show also featured a discussion on the economy, IBEC Senior Economist, Fergal O’ Brien gave details on their statement that the Irish Economy is starting to pull out of a deep recession. We also heard reaction to this from ISME Chief Executive, Mark Fielding and Trade Union consultant Padraig Yeats.

Wicklow mother Lisa Domican today told Declan about her involvement with the development of a new iPHONE app that she hopes will help children with autism better develop their communications skills. The app, which has already been successfully trialled in the Saplings school in Rathfarnham for children with autism, is called “Grace” (named after Lisa’s daughter) and is based on the principle of picture exchange communication. The new app is now available in the official iPhone App Store. It will retail at €29.99 for up to five users, to facilitate family members accessing the app.

The re-iternation of Cardinal Sean Brady not to resign following revelations that he failed to report complaints of clerical sexual abuse to Gardai was the main topic covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard comment from abuse survivor Andrew Madden and Religious correspondent with the Irish Times Patsy Mc Garry. We also heard an RTE interview with Cardinal Brady.

On today’s Morning Show Declan got an update on the unread xray story at Tallaght hospital from Tallght Action group spokesperson, Triona Murphy, discussed the weekends rugby win with former rugby International and Shane Byrne and heard about illegal dumping problems around the County from PURE Project Manager, Ian Davis.
