Wednesday 28th July
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

The difficulties facing Arnotts department store and the now abandoned plans for the Northern Quarter shopping area was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard details on this from Dublin Chamber of Commerce spokesperson, Patrick King.

On this morning’s show AA Spokesperson Conor Faughnan explained the cost of running a car, we discussed the future of the euro with Simon Barry, Senior Economist with Ulster Bank and heard the latest details on the National Broadband rollout scheme for rural areas from 3 Spokesperson, Brian Purcell.

The Morning Show also featured an interview with Consultant Psychiatrist at the Mater Hospital, Professor Patricia Casey. She discussed a recent study which suggested that the overuse of social networking site such as Twitter and Facebook can damage relationships and explained why having friends may help prolong life. Professor Casey writes a regular column in Irish Independent, Health and Living Supplement.
