The closure of 1800hotels was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard the latest details from Holiday doctor Joe Supple and we heard stories from a number of effected listeners.

On this morning’s show we heard details on the latest ESRI report, author and researcher Tomas Conifrey told us about the rising unemployment and emigration figures, we discussed a proposal to silence burglar alarms with residents association spokesperson Malachi Steenson and Wilkin Security, Technical Manager, Frank Anderson and we heard details on the arklow seabreeze festival which is taking place this weekend(16th-18th July) from festival organiser, Colm Moules.

The Morning Show also featured an interview about child obesity. Dr Donal O’ Shea – consultant endocrinologist and director of the weight management clinic at st columcille's hospital in loughlinstown discussed if lack of exercise is one of the main reasons for child obesity or their weight problem is the reason why some children are so inactive.
