The Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Monday 26th July

Monday 26th July
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

The plan to save €500 million in the state’s 34 local authorities was just one of the topics covered on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard comment on possible cuts to local authority staff and the suggested introduction of extra levies from local councillors Conal Kavanagh, Derek Mitchell and Ciaran O’ Brien. We also spoke to AA Spokesperson Conor Faughnan about the possibility of increased motor tax and discussed how vintage car enthusiasts may be affected by new rules.

On this morning’s show we also heard tribute to the late Alex Higgins from long-time friend Louis Copeland, we discussed 50 years of the pill with Greystones GP Dr Ciara Kelly and Counselling Psychologist Thesesa Fenton and Irish Times Pricewatcher, Conor Pope talked to us about the expense of Irish tourist attractions.
