The Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Thursday 27th May

Thursday 27th May
The Morning Show with Declan Meehan

Tonight’s semi-finals of the Eurovision song contest got everyone talking on The Morning Show today; Laura Wood kicked off the programme by speaking to East Coast FM’s oracle of all things Eurovision, Mick lynch. We got a slightly more anarchic take on Ireland’s chances in the big sing-off however when loud-mouthed, former entrant, Dustin the Turkey, later told us he’d be keeping his wings crossed for this year’s hopeful Niamh Kavanagh.

Bray’s Independent Town Councillor, Eugene Finnegan also joined us to discuss the Government’s proposal to scrap town councils, while Greystones Town Councillor, Kathleen Kelleher added her voice to the debate as well. Next we heard about the Wicklow Garden festival which kicks off today and the boys of Saint Brendan’s School in Bray packed into the East Coast FM studio to explain how they made a green house using only recycled bottles.

Finally, Siobhan Donnelly made everyone drool with her mouth-watering tips for a tasty bar-b-q and singer, songwriter Hamlet Sweeney played us out with a pre-view of one of the tracks from his ‘Powerscourt Tapes’ EP.
