Trevor Sargent’s resignation from Government yesterday was the main topic covered today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan. We heard reaction from FG Deputy Andrew Doyle, Minister Dick Roche and local Green Party Councillors Ciaran O’ Brien and Pat Kavanagh. We also heard further comment on the resignation and what this news might mean for the date of the next general election from local councillors Simon Harris and Pat Fitzgerald.

Morning Show Reporter Laura Wood today spoke to Eric Blatchford of Russborough House about how they are coping since the fire in recent weeks, she visited a resident in Greystones to discuss the impact of the pause in Harbour developmnent work and reported from the brand new library in Greystones.

On today’s Morning Show we discussed the issue of over prescription of medicines with Dr Neil O’ Cleirith, Communications Officer, Irish College of General Practioners. Brian Murphy from the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association advised listeners on the dangers of using counterfeit Medicines and Consumer Association of Ireland Chief Executive, Dermot Jewell explained the reason over the counter medicines are so much cheaper in the UK.
