The Morning Show with Declan Meehan Santa Special

Today on the Morning Show with Declan Meehan, we had a very special guest in studio, Santa arrived down from Lapland with his sleigh and brought Rudolph with him. He spoke to loads of boys and girls around Wicklow and some even sang for him.

Santa has a message for all the boys and girls in the county and he’s asking them to make sure they’re in bed nice and early, and to leave out some food for Rudolph and maybe some warm milk for him to drink!

From all of us on The Morning Show, have a Happy Christmas, and we'll be back in the New Year.

Last night the Taoiseach stood in front of the world’s media and admitted that our country is financially bankrupt; on today’s Morning Show with Declan Meehan we asked political correspondent Padraic Gallagher what’s next for Ireland Inc.? We also heard expert comment on the possible terms of the impending bailout and discussed the real cost of international aid for ordinary Irish citizens.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom however Declan managed to get a sneak peek at the perfect antidote to our economic ills when the mastermind behind Phoenix Magazine dropped by with his latest annual, we got a fashion fix from Escape Boutique, a flavour of Wicklow’s farmers’ markets and a dose of the ‘feel-good’ factor from life coach Liz Sherry.

And if all that wasn’t enough we had our regular update from Bray Lakers, advice from resident legal eagle Mark Felton and the latest developments in the county’s politics and transport news.

Morning Show with Declan Meehan, Friday 19th November 2010

The topic on the tip of everyone’s tongue – the arrival of the IMF in Ireland – got the conversation started on today’s special edition of The Morning Show from Holland’s of Bray; local politicians joined Declan Meehan for a lively discussion on the nation’s biggest stories just after nine. East Coast’s own Head of News Gareth Farrell then brought us up to date on last night’s headline grabbing outburst by Pat Rabbitte and to round off all things financial our resident Money Doctor, John Diskin added a few wise words of advice on your mortgage repayments.

The tone brightened next as we began to hear from a host of local personalities on Bray’s thriving business and cultural communities, including Gerry Duffy the Headmaster of Presentation College Bray and Noreen Kelly from the town’s Chamber of Commerce. Shane Rowen dropped in to keep the mood upbeat with a toe-tapping, live musical performance afterwards and there were competitions, callers and even a check-up with our local vet Pete Wederburn.

The morning finally ended on a high note with a tune from singer Joel Blasket and a reminder that the official switching on ceremony for the Bray Christmas lights will take place tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.
